Editorial: An Update

Hi there, it's been a while.

If you're somehow reading this on what has become the corpse of Roadie Live, thank you for having faith in what I do. It's been a long run to get here and a lot has happened, and it means a lot that you are still here. In honesty, there have been several points in the last year where the site nearly wasn't here anymore and it's a pretty massive shame.

Since you last heard from me on this platform, the world has changed a lot both generally and for me. The former I don't need to tell you of course, but the latter has been a total whirlwind resulting in me landing the job of a lifetime. I am totally over the moon with it, but it has meant the lull in content on Roadie Live has continued longer than I ever intended.

That being said, there is hope. After speaking to Haaris from Good As Gold PR on the phone yesterday (shoutout to that guy, what a champ), I have been thinking a lot about what a phenomenal platform this site has given me and what a ridiculous waste it is to let go of it so easily. I may no longer have a team, but I have a degree of motivation and desire to continue the site that has been lacking for the last year.

I am looking to recruit a team once more, but my primary focus is to get the wheels in motion on getting my own content out on the site. It may not be regular, but writing about music has given me experiences beyond my wildest dreams like standing among and interviewing my heroes and being behind the scenes in some of my favourite venues and festivals in the world. So with that being said, here's something I didn't think I would say again:

Roadie Live is coming back.

My first content series will start tomorrow and it will be called 'Run Records', charting the albums I listen to while I continue the Couch to 5K plan I have been doing over the last couple of weeks. 'What is the first record on that list, James?' I hear you ask. It will be tonight's offering which landed today... Get a flavour of it down below.

Nice to see you again, let's not leave it so long next time.

J
